Xenadrine for Weight Loss

Claims made about Xenadrine for weight loss are everywhere on the internet, but let's cut through the hype and see whether it really delivers.

Xenadrine EFX is one of the most popular and best selling weight loss supplements on the market and replaces the previous incarnation of Xenadrine.

The reason for the change is because the product contained ephedra, now banned in the US.

Xenadrine EFX is ephedra-free and has been reformulated with a new mix of ingredients.

So...

Xenadrine EFX - What is it...?

Xenadrine EFX is a supplement that's marketed as a fat burner. It's claimed to aid weight loss, to boost your metabolism and boost your energy levels.

We're reviewing this product because it's extremely popular. Also because it contains some ingredients that actually have some scientific basis to back up their purported weight loss properties.

The manufacturer's hype can be taken with a pinch of salt as can many of the sometimes outrageous reviews and testimonials used to market the product.

Now to be honest, we don't believe there are any miracle weight loss ingredients or products out there. In our view, the vast majority of weight loss supplements, fat burners, fat blockers, metabolic boosters, etc are a complete waste of money.

There are plenty of scammy, fly by night companies and products only too ready to take your money and run.

However, some of the ingredients in Xenadrine EFX show some promise and are actually quite good for you!

Xenadrine EFX - What's in it...?

The claims made about Xenadrine for weight loss centre on a couple of ingredients.

We're not going to look at all the ingredients because there's very little merit in some of them.

However, some are worth discussing.

Green tea is probably the most promising herbal supplement for weight loss. We've reviewed the links between green tea and weight loss already, so we won't repeat ourselves too much.

However, controlled and credible studies have shown that it may raise your metabolic rate by around 80 calories a day.

It contains epigallocatechingallate (EGCG), a very powerful antioxidant, showing great promise in trials examining its potential in preventing heart disease, strokes and various cancers.

Green tea also contains caffeine, a stimulant that can cause a modest rise in the number of calories burned.

Xenadrine EFX contains guarana, which has similar properties to caffeine. However, caffeine induces a short-lived 'high', whilst guarana has a gentler, longer-lasting effect.

This sustained high is claimed to raise your metabolism for longer than caffeine, so increasing any calorie and fat burning effect.

A lot more research is required to fully substantiate such claims but guarana shows some promise.

There are plenty of other ingredients in the product, but we can't find any evidence to support weight loss claims for yerba mate, amino acids like L-tyrosine, or chemicals like theobromide or tyramine.

Xenadrine for Weight Loss - Does it Work...?

Taken on their own, without any diet or weight loss program, there isn't a legally available product on earth that's going to stimulate any significant weight loss.

However, as part of a healthy weight loss plan, or for serious athletes looking for an edge, then Xenadrine EFX may well prove to be a useful supplement.

We're big fans of green tea and this looks like a worthwhile green tea supplement.

There are a few provisos, however, given that Xenadrine EFX contains some pretty powerful stimulants. If you have problems with caffeine you're probably best to avoid it.

You may also feel nauseous, jittery, hot and sweaty taking Xenadrine for weight loss. So read the instructions and disclaimers on the packaging and check with your doctor if you're not sure. Always a wise precaution.

Also take a look at the weight loss forums and customer reviews on various websites. Some pople like it and claim it works, others don't. Do a little research and make your own mind up.

Taking Xenadrine for weight loss isn't going to be the solution to your weight management problems.

However, as weight loss supplements go, if you haven't already this is one that may well be worth trying.
