ProForm 320 Elliptical Trainer Review

Our ProForm 320 elliptical trainer review takes a close look at one of the more popular bargain basement machines around – it’s cheap enough, but does it perform?

In a word…no!

I’m sorry, but with exercise equipment you get what you pay for and it’s quite simply not possible to build a quality machine for under $300.

It’s hard enough for under $1,000!

The ProForm 320 will appeal to those who are either on a very limited budget or who simply don’t want to invest in a quality elliptical.

The ProForm 320 is the kind of elliptical that you would pick up in the supermarket with your groceries…like budget LCD TVs or stereo systems.

Sure enough, its affordable but I’d suggest you save up your money until you can buy something that will give you the kind of workout you need to lose weight and get in shape!

So what’s wrong with the ProForm 320…?

ProForm 320 Elliptical Trainer Review – Features…

Silent magnetic resistance (SMR)…not as good as the eddy current brake (ECB) system, but unexpected on a machine at this price.First the positives. As with pretty much every piece of ProFrorm exercise equipment, our ProForm 320 elliptical trainer review found a feature-packed machine for the money…

10 resistance levels, six workout programmes, two customisable workout programmes, a heart monitor, an LCD display, cooling fans…all for under $300!

You can see why ProForm is a popular brand!

This is all to the company’s credit and great for customers on a budget.

However, where it really matters our ProForm 320 elliptical trainer review found this machine lacking.

The build quality is poor…there’s plenty of plastic, its lightweight, it feels flimsy and there’s a distinct lack of stability when you’re riding it.

It’s also rather small…good for home storage, but woebetide anyone much over 5’6″ that uses it!

The stride length is short and results in a choppy motion and the action isn’t very smooth… not great if you plan on using the 320 for more than around 5 minutes or so at a time.

But then again, it is cheap, so can you really expect much at that price?

And that’s the problem…no you can’t, so why buy one?

if you’re not convinced, the ProForm 320 retails for $299, but you can get it for $269 at WorkoutWarehouse¬†although shipping costs an extra $125.

ProForm 320 Elliptical Trainer Review – The Bottom Line…

In a nutshell, our ProForm 320 elliptical trainer review would conclude that you need to be prepared to invest a bit more than $300 if you want a solid elliptical.

ProForm make some decent, value for money machines – this isn’t one of them.
