Low Fat Plan Diet Review
Our Low Fat Plan diet review takes a look at a proven strategy for effective weight loss, one that conforms to
healthy eating guidance and common sense!A low fat diet is , well...low in fat! Particularly animal fat and other
saturated fats. Whilst high fat, low carb diets have been fashionable for a while now and have divided the
scientific and medical communities, the evidence points very firmly in favour of a low fat diet for heart
health, effective weight loss and weight management. There are plenty of low fat diets around and indeed, many low
carb and low GI diets are also now technically low fat diets. The Low Fat Plan is available from eDiets and claims
to offer a personalised eating plan that conforms to US Dietary Association and American Heart Association
guidelines. So, does it work?
Low Fat Plan Diet Review - How Does it Work...?
Simple, really. Fat contains 9 calories a gram, compared to 4 calories for protein and 3.5 for carbs. That's around
twice as many.By reducing the amount of fat you eat, you reduce the total calories you consume and lose weight.
Eating fewer calories than you burn is the one cast-iron weight loss strategy. Cutting fat calories is
probably the easiest way to do that. The Low Fat Plan also encourages the consumption of complex carbs, such as
wholegrains, fruit and veg, which are also high in fiber. Protein in the diet comes from lean meats such as turkey, chicken
and fish so again you're eating less fat. The Low Fat Plan is not a very low fat diet, like the Pritikin Diet
for instance and calories from fat amount to 20-30% of your total intake. It's still way lower than the typical
American or European's intake of over 40% of calories from fat. Because the diet is over 20% fat, it's a lot easier to stick to than
very low fat diets and far less restrictive. Fat adds flavour to food and without a certain amount, it can taste
bland. Furthermore, healthy unsaturated fats provide essential fatty acids that are good for the heart and
circulatory system. They also provide fat soluble vitamins, which are essential for good health. Check out our page on

realistic and acheivable rate of weight loss.
Low Fat Plan Diet Review - Does it Work...?
Undoubtedly. The evidence for a low fat, low calorie diet combined with regular exercise as the most effective
strategy for weight loss is overwhelming. It's the preferred diet for pretty much every health, medical and
dietary organisation worldwide. This plan also emphasises wholegrains, fruit and veg as preferred carb
sources, which should please low GI fans, and the more liberal-minded low carbers! Complex carbs take longer to
digest than simple, refined carbs and as such have less impact on blood sugar and insulin levels. Insulin is
your fat storing hormone. The fat that you do eat is mono- and polyunsaturated, which helps to reduce blood
cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease, so you'll lose weight and improve your health and well-being!
The Low Fat Plan also comes with the usual eDiets online support package of personalised meal plans, printable
weekly shopping lists, online forums and chat rooms, vast libraries of information and advice and guidance 24/7
from their professional staff. It comes at a price though, around $3 a week and if you sign up for the fitness
plan as well, you'll be looking at around $20 a month. Is it worth it? Take a look around the various forums, chat rooms and blogs and you'll find mostly positive comments and testimonials so we'd suggest it was money well spent. However, there
are plenty of low fat books and free info available, so you could always design your own low fat diet plan at
little cost if you can't afford or don't want to pay the eDiets subscription.
