Hi Revamp your Weight Loss WorkoutWelcome to the latest issue of "Too Busy for Weight Loss!" And so to this month's e-zine...Are you struggling to fit your fitness routine into your busy schedule? Are your weight loss efforts being compromised by your inability to complete your daily weight loss workout? It's a common problem and given the critical importance of regular exercise to successful and permanent weight loss, a pretty fundamental problem to overcome. I've got exactly the same dilemma. My career is keeping me at work for 11-12 hours a day. I've got a burgeoning business to run in my spare time - evenings and weekends mostly! I have a beautiful wife and two fabulous daughters that are starting to forget what I look like... And I've got to squeeze in 4 or 5 two hour workouts a week at the gym? Something's got to give! So how do you fit an exercise program into a busy week...? A little while ago I started to think long and hard about how I was going to stay in shape when I had so many competing pressures on my time. I went back to my old college notes, did some research on the internet and came up with a plan. Rather than spend hours on the weights and on long, boring cardio I would condense a strength training and cardio workout into one short workout lasting around 45 minutes or less. I also figured, based on past experience that if I made the workout sufficiently intense, three workouts a week should be enough for me to burn body fat, use up loads of calories and build some muscle. Furthermore, if I didn't have the time to make it to the gym, I wanted a way or working out that I could do at home with the minimum of equipment - using no more than my bodyweight and a little ingenuity. The result? My new fitness regime has completely transformed my approach to exercise. I can now easily fit my three, 45 minute workouts into my week. I get an intense workout that gives me the maximum benefit in the shortest possible time using proven techniques like supersets, circuits, and interval training. I no longer need to do long weight workouts at the gym or long boring runs and bike rides lasting an hour or more. I can also workout at home - before work, in the evenings when the kids are in bed, at the weekend during TV time! 45 minutes, three times a week is a lot easier to find than the time my previous expeditions to the gym required! And when I do get to the gym, I use the same short intense workouts to get me in and out in under an hour. Using this new approach - for me, anyway! - to exercise, I've started a new section of weight loss workout articles that you may find useful in revamping your fitness regime. Assuming of course that you want to spend less time working out, using the precious time you do spend exercising to generate the best possible weight loss results and leaving more time to spend with your family and doing the fun things in life! Best wishes with your weight loss workout, Marcus |
